EnviroScrub Successfully Operates "Critical Leg" of PahlmanTM Process Scrubbing Technology 28 January, 2003 Minneapolis, MN EnviroScrub Technologies Corporation has successfully demonstrated a continuous process for creating PahlmaniteTM, an extensively patented dry mineral sorbent that removes over 99% of both NOx and SOx as well as up to 67% of vapor phase mercury (Hg) from the gaseous emissions of power plants and other industrial facilities. These successful tests now effectively "complete the blocks" of EnviroScrub's next-generation scrubbing technology, known as the PahlmanTM Process. The PahlmanTM Process is essentially a closed-loop system comprised of two discrete steps: Step 1. The process of capturing NOx, SOx, TRS, Hg and heavy metals in real-time from exhaust gas streams using PahlmaniteTM, a dry mineral sorbent; and Step 2. The chemical process of separating and isolating nitrates, sulfates, and heavy metals from PahlmaniteTM in solution and returning PahlmaniteTM to a base-line state so that it can be used again in Step 1. Independent laboratories, such as Interpoll Laboratories and GE Mostardi Platt, have verified Step 1, the ability of the PahlmanTM Process to drastically reduce levels of NOx, SOx and vapor-phase mercury (Hg). By successfully operating the Continuous Process for creating PahlmaniteTM, EnviroScrub Technologies Corporation has demonstrated the most critical block in its ability to execute Step 2 at lower than previously shown costs. By successfully demonstrating the Continuous Process portion of the PahlmanTM Process, EnviroScrub Technologies Corporation proves that PahlmaniteTM is regenerable on-site, meaning that it can be used repeatedly, eliminating disposal problems associated with competing technologies like wet Flue Gas Desulfurization. Step 2 of the PahlmanTM Process can transform NOx and SOx pollutants into nitrates and sulfates, which are the chemical building blocks for many fungible industrial commodities, such as fertilizers. EnviroScrub, a privately-held deployment-stage company, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, licenses its dry PahlmanTM Process technology, which is effective in removing NOx ,SOx, H2S, mercury, and other heavy metals from the gaseous emissions of natural gas- and coal- fired boilers and other industrial processes. EnviroScrub plans to compete in the multi-billion dollar global emissions-reduction-technology ("ERT") market beginning in 2003. Back to News |
