 Third United States Patent Granted to EnviroScrub 10 June, 2005 Minneapolis, Minnesota EnviroScrub Technologies Corporation (“EnviroScrub”) has received notification of the United States Patent Office’s decision granting EnviroScrub its third United States patent. The patent is entitled “System and Process for Removal of Pollutants from a Gas Stream” and is owned by EnviroScrub. The patent contains 18 Claims, covering various embodiments of EnviroScrub’s systems and processes for the removal of targeted pollutants, namely oxides of sulfur (SOX) and oxides of nitrogen (NOX), utilizing modular removal systems and processes. The granting decision by the United States Patent Office will add to the two previously granted patents and expand the scope of EnviroScrub’s patent protection in the United States. “With the granting of EnviroScrub’s third United States Patent and our fifth overall, we are in a great position of having key aspects of our technology patented as we enter the commercialization stage”, commented Richard Boren, EnviroScrub’s Vice President - Technology. EnviroScrub’s technology systems and processes have the ability to remove simultaneously up to 99% of oxides of sulfur (SOX), 96% of oxides of nitrogen (NOX), 97% of oxidized mercury, 99% of elemental mercury, and 94% of total mercury as demonstrated in recent pilot testing trials, which were independently verified. EnviroScrub, a privately-held deployment-stage company based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, licenses its patented and proprietary dry Pahlman™ Process NOX / SOX / Hg / PM 2.5 / HCl / H2S scrubbing technology to power generation and industrial plants worldwide.
