EnviroScrub Receives Patent from US Patent Office 17 June, 2003 Minneapolis, Minnesota EnviroScrub Technologies Corporation ("EnviroScrub") has received its first issued patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office ("USPTO"). Patent Number 6,579,507 with the title of "System and Process for Removal of Pollutants from a Gas Stream" is dated 17 June, 2003. Inventors include the late John E. "Jack" Pahlman, Steven C. Carlton, Charles F. Hammel, and Richard M. Boren. The Patent is owned by EnviroScrub. The Patent has 86 Claims, protecting different embodiments of EnviroScrub's systems and processes for the removal of targeted pollutants, such as oxides of sulfur (SOx), oxides of nitrogen (NOx), mercury compounds (Hg), and ash. EnviroScrub has trademarked its pollution control technology as the Pahlman™ Process. The Patent also protects uses of EnviroScrub's proprietary sorbents in electronically-controlled pollutant removal systems and processes. The sorbents, which are based on oxides of manganese, have been trademarked as Pahlmanite™. "Receiving this patent is a huge milestone for EnviroScrub. It is a multi-fold win for the corporation in that the patent protects the Pahlman™ pollutant removal systems, the process of removing pollutants with the systems, and uses of Pahlmanite™ sorbents. In other words, the Patent recognizes the Pahlman™ Process and uses of Pahlmanite™ sorbents as the unique property of EnviroScrub," says Charles Hammel, EnviroScrub's Chief Technology Officer. EnviroScrub, a privately-held deployment-stage company based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, licenses its patented and proprietary dry Pahlman™ Process NOx/SOx/Hg/PM 2.5 scrubbing technology to power generation and industrial plants worldwide. EnviroScrub plans to compete in the multi-billion dollar U.S. emissions-reduction-technology ("ERT") market with its first commercial-scale projects in 2004.
